【大きな試練】

2017年11月

健康診断で再検査となり精密検査を受けました。まさかの『悪性リンパ腫』という『血液の癌』が見つかりました。健康優良児のわたしが…。なんの症状もなかったのに…。信じられませんでした。しかし不幸中の幸い、奇跡的にステージ1未満という早期発見ができました。無事治療を経て、現在元気に過ごしています。完治まで、もう少しです！

【癌を恐れないでほしい】

遠い遠い存在だった『癌』が自分の身に降りかかったことで、わたしの中で癌への考え方が180度変わりました。もちろん、部位やステージによって様々ですので一概には言えませんが、共通して言えることは、早期発見だと、現在の医学ではほとんどのケースで癌は治せます。『癌=死』のイメージがどうしても拭えないですが、わたしのケースだと初めから、『命に別状はない。治療の効果があるから必ず治る！』そう言われていました。そんな癌もあるのです。今の医学では、癌は身近です。部位やステージ次第では、カジュアルな病気とも言えます。　

【発信できるようになるまで】

自分が癌を患ったことを発信出来るようになるまで、3年掛かりました。今まではずっと隠して来ました。でも、『なんで隠してるんだろう…』『隠す必要があるのか…？』『でもあえて言うことでもないか…』『引かれるのではないか…』そんな想いが交差しモヤモヤした気持ちが続いていました。しかし発信することで、闘病中の方への希望や励みに繋がれば、癌の正しい認識に繋がれば、癌の偏見を減らすことに繋がれば、そして、自分自身の気持ちの整理にも繋がるのではないか、そう思い伝えていくことに決めました。

【勇気づけられた一枚の写真との出逢い】

抗がん剤治療を始める直前に、インスタで一枚の女性の写真と出逢いました。彼女も同じく抗がん剤治療中でおしゃれな帽子を被り脱毛したあたまをチラッと見せて笑顔で写っている可愛らしい写真でした。『赤ちゃんみたいで、かわいい…♡』脱毛の恐怖で絶望的だった気持ちが一気にやわらいだ瞬間でした。今でも鮮明に覚えています。

【絵を描く理由】

わたしの絵が誰かのそんな一枚になれたら幸いです。絵を通して元気になってもらいたい。ひとりでも多くの人が元気になれるように、絵を描きつづけていくことがわたしの使命であり、目標です。

“ The Big Tribulation”

November 2017.

I was retested for a physical examination and had a detailed examination. No way, I was found to have "malignant lymphoma", a "cancer of the blood". Why me???I had been healthy for a long time.Even though I had no symptoms.I couldn't believe it. But fortunately, miraculously, I could find the cancer at an early stage, less than stage 1. I went through the treatment without any problems, and I am currently in good health. I'm almost ready for a full recovery!

“ Don't be afraid of cancer!”

I used to think of cancer as a distant presence, but now that it has happened to me, my attitude toward it has big changed. Of course, it cannot be said in general, as it varies depending on the site and stage of the disease, but what can be said in common is that cancer can be cured in most cases with early detection with the current medical science. It's hard to shake off the image of "cancer = death," but in my case, doctor told me from the beginning, "It's not life-threatening, and you will be cured because of the effects of the treatment! “That's what I was told. There are such cancers. In today's medicine, cancer is very familiar. Depending on the site and stage, it can be called a casual disease.　

“ Until l am ready to tell”

It took me three years to be able to tell people that I had cancer. Until now, I have been hiding it. However, I had to ask myself, "Why am I hiding it? Do I have to hide?But I didn't dare to say anything.Wouldn't I be rejected." These thoughts crossed my mind and I continued to feel bewildered. However, I decided to tell my story ,and it would give hope and encouragement to those who are fighting cancer, that it would lead to a correct understanding of cancer, that it would reduce prejudice against cancer, and that it would help me sort out my own feelings.

“ Encounter with a photo that encouraged me”

Just before I started my anti-cancer treatment, I came across a picture of a woman on Instagram. She was also undergoing anti-cancer treatment and was wearing a stylish hat and smiling with a glimpse of her hair loss head. She looked so cute, like a baby.This was the moment when my fear of hair loss eased my desperate feelings. I still remember it vividly.

“Why I draw?”

I would also my drawing to be one of such a picture for someone! My mission and goal is to continue to draw to cheer people up!!

That’s why I draw.
